How to Check for iOS Biometric Scanners

Settings & Information

  • Mac > Customization > Workflows

  • Windows > Customization > General

  • iPhone 5s & iPhone SE will require manual testing every time for Touch ID.

  • TouchID & FaceID is tested via the Desktop automatically

  • While the device is connecting the sensor should update to the following colors. Indicators will be RED, GREEN, or BLACK

  • Note - There are times when the devices do not provide a result automatically and the user will receive a prompt on device square to test it manually.

Face ID prompt for manual verification

  • If the operator selects "Skip" or "Fail" both options will fail FaceID

  • The user will open the settings to set up Face ID

  • During the Face ID set up the test will automatically pass or fail and clear the device square prompt


Touch ID prompt for manual verification

  • If the operator select "Skip" or "Fail" both options will fail "Fingerprint Sensor"

  • The user will open the settings to set up Touch ID

  • During the Face ID set up the test will automatically pass or fail and clear the device square prompt
