Phonecheck Support (“the app”) is provided by Phonecheck. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and who it is shared with.
The app is a business tool for existing Phonecheck customers. Your account is created for you by your organization’s administrator, and you use the app to message the Phonecheck team, view your account usage, and manage support.
Who this applies to
The app is intended for authorized employees of Phonecheck’s business customers. It is not directed to children and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Information we collect
Account information provided by your administrator: your name, work email, role, and the organization you belong to.
Content you provide: chat messages, attachments (photos, files, videos, and voice messages), an optional profile photo, and support requests.
To attach a photo or file, the app asks permission to access your photo library and only reads the items you choose. If you choose to take a photo or record a video in the chat, the app asks permission to use your camera; if you record a voice message, it asks permission to use your microphone. Camera and microphone are used only while you are actively capturing something to send, and never in the background. The app does not use your location or contacts.
If you turn on the optional app lock, your device’s Face ID / Touch ID (or Android biometrics) is used to unlock the app. Biometric checks happen entirely on your device through the operating system — the app never sees, collects, or stores your biometric data.
Usage and license information from your Phonecheck account (devices processed, license usage, plan details, tickets) is shown to you in the app.
Device and technical information: device model and OS version, a push-notification token, the app version, activity timestamps, basic crash reports (what went wrong in the app, so we can fix it), and your IP address in server logs.
We do not track you across other apps or websites, serve advertising, sell your data, or use third-party analytics or advertising tools.
How we use information
- Sign you in and provide the app’s features (chat, support, usage, notifications).
- Let the Phonecheck team and the AI assistant respond to your messages.
- Translate messages and app content into your chosen language when you use the app in a language other than English.
- Send push notifications you have enabled (you can turn these off in your device settings).
- Keep the service secure, prevent abuse, debug problems, and meet legal obligations.
AI assistant
Some conversations are handled or assisted by an automated AI assistant, and messages and app content may be automatically translated into your chosen language. This processing happens on Amazon Bedrock, a managed AI service inside our Amazon Web Services environment, only to generate the response or translation. Your content is not used to train AI models.
Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the app, and only as needed to provide the service:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — cloud hosting in the United States: database, file storage, email delivery, and the Amazon Bedrock AI service
- Expo — delivery of push notifications
- Cloudflare — network security and content delivery
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights or users’ safety. We do not sell personal information.
Storage, security & retention
Your data is stored in our Amazon Web Services environment in the United States (a PostgreSQL database and encrypted file storage). It is encrypted in transit using standard HTTPS/TLS and at rest, and access is restricted by role-based permissions. We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service and meet legal requirements, then delete or de-identify it.
Your choices and rights
You can review or correct your information through your administrator or the Phonecheck team.
You can turn push notifications off at any time in your device settings.
You can delete your account and its personal data from Settings → Account details → Delete account. Because accounts are provisioned by your organization, some shared support records may be retained by your organization or as required by law.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as access, deletion, or portability). Contact us to exercise them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
