What it means to have an MDM enabled device

Updated over a week ago

It means there is an MDM profile on this device that might lock the device once reset, MDM profiles are similar in a sense to iCloud accounts as they can restrict future users to have full access to the device

Mobile device management (MDM) is an industry term for the administration of mobile devices, such as smartphones, tablet computers, laptops, and desktop computers. MDM is usually implemented with the use of a third-party product that has management features for particular vendors of mobile devices.

If you are able to connect the device Erasure will some times clear the MDM profile

  1. Select the Device Square

  2. Click on the “E” on the toolbar above to Erase the device

  3. If that doesn’t work, try a Restore

  4. Click on the “R” on the toolbar above to Restore the device

  5. If you still have MDM then the profile can’t be removed

Note: This can also be automated in desktop with "Auto Erase MDM" if MDM is cleared the device app will be installed if not device fails for MDM defect.

Cannot Pair Error

This means the device has a policy on the device which prevents the device from communicating with a computer.

Note: If you place the device into Recovery Mode and Restore with Phonecheck you may be able to read at least the device information to print a label
