DYMO LabelWriter Printer Troubleshooting

Basic troubleshooting in a logical order.

Updated over 3 years ago

If you are experiencing sudden or unexpected printing issues with your DYMO LableWriter printers you will want to try some of the following troubleshooting steps.

The first step should be a power cycle. Try and power cycle equipment for few minutes, then reconnect the equipment. To do this you will need to unplug the power source from your DYMO printer and disconnect the USB cable. Once a power cycle has been performed and the issue still persists, continue troubleshooting.

If the issue is blank labels - Press the feed button on the front of your LabelWriter printer. If it advances more than one label, or it does not advance a full label, then it is most likely caused by a label issue. In this case confirm that the labels have been loaded correctly, and also that you are using genuine Dymo labels.

If you press the feed button and only one label advances (as is expected), then it is most likely an incorrect setting in the DYMO Label Software (Barcode & Graphics)

Setting the "Barcode and graphics" in the DYMO Label Software.

1. Open the DYMO Label Software App.

2. Do one of the following:

•For Windows, choose Preferences from the Edit menu.

•For Mac, choose Preferences from the DYMO Label menu.

3. Select the "LabelWriter printer" tab.

4. Select "Barcode and graphics"

5. Click OK to close the Preferences dialog box and apply your changes.

Next would be to do the Dymo Clean uninstall/install, this would include the physical printer. Be sure to disconnect the printer when uninstalling the DYMO LabelWriter software. It may be reconnected once the DYMO software is installed. Once the software is reinstalled, launch the DYMO software and complete the setup.

If doing the above has not resolved the issue, clean the sensors on the DYMO Printer or Try another working printer from a different station.
